American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

AYSO Region 55 - Huntington Beach

Welcome to Region 55!

Thank you for your time, commitment, and support in helping provide the best possible soccer experience for your child in Huntington Beach — and all children in our Region. Region 55 is built on positive reinforcement and effort over results. This philosophy builds confidence, belonging, and a lifelong love of the game. Soccer knowledge is secondary — what matters most is creating a fun, supportive environment for the kids. Your time and effort as a volunteer are critical to our success, incredibly valuable, and deeply apprecaited.

Wishing you a fantastic season ahead!

Volunteer with AYSO today!

AYSO runs on the power of our volunteers! With over 100,000 parents, neighbors, relatives, and friends lending their time and talents, each child gets a terrific AYSO experience. Help make a difference in the lives of the kids in your community today! Ready to play?

Volunteer as an AYSO Coach

AYSO has developed special training to help volunteers who may have little or no soccer experience quickly gain the age-appropriate knowledge and skills they need to become outstanding coaches. To become an AYSO coach, you must be certified in the age level you will be coaching.

Volunteer as an AYSO Referee

The referee’s job is to be the official in charge of the game. A referee’s authority extends to everyone at the field, including players, substitutes, team officials, spectators, and even assistant referees. AYSO Referees keep the game safe, fair and fun for everyone: the players, the coaches, the spectators, and themselves!

Volunteer as an AYSO Board Member

Every AYSO region is led by a team of administrators and a Regional Board who help with strategy and implementation of creating a great soccer program for your community. If you are interested in serving on the board, contact Regional Commissioner, Jason McEwan, today at [email protected].

Still Deciding?

We are an All-Volunteer organization, and we rely on everyone pitching in, in some capacity, to help fulfill our mission. Only interest, not experience, is needed to volunteer!

Our mission is to provide high-quality, low-cost youth soccer to as many children in our immediate and surrounding communities as possible.

We simply cannot do that without every family pitching in in some way. Parents, neighbors, relatives, and friends lend their time and talents so that each child gets a terrific AYSO experience.

There are many ways to be part of your child’s soccer experience. Some positions require ongoing commitments, such as coaching a team. Other roles support one-time events, like picture day or helping out with our end-of-year events. Some positions even allow you to volunteer on your own time from your own home!

Upon registering your child, you will be asked to select a volunteer role. The roles listed are the most critical to the success of our program. The more active referees and coaches we have in our program, the better the experience we can provide to more players.

If you have no desire to coach or referee, or your schedule simply won't allow you to make that commitment, we have numerous other essential roles that need to be filled. Simply email the leadership team at [email protected]. You will be able to tell us about what you like to do, what you are good at, and how much time you are able to devote to helping the Region. We will help you find a role that works for you.

Region 55 and AYSO National is proud to provide the training, both in person and online, and mentorship you need to be successful in whatever role you choose, for free. AYSO training doesn't stop, as long as you're having fun! Referees, coaches and administrators have clinics, workshops and other advanced training courses available to advance their skills.

FAQs:

  1. AYSOU Login Credentials - Volunteers will use their Blue Sombrero Username and Password to log into AYSOU. If this is working on Blue Sombrero, but not working on AYSOU, the volunteer will need to login in to Blue Sombrero, click on their volunteer details, and then click update.
  2. Additional Volunteer Users - users volunteering outside of the registration system will volunteer his/herself, or add a new user to volunteer.  If the volunteer now becomes an additional user, he/she will want to accept the invite to create a Username/Password on Blue Sombrero to get them access to AYSOU.  Youth Volunteers do not have to accept this additional user invite to move forward.
  3. AYSOU Certifications - Certifications will port over from eAYSO once the user volunteers, based on the system recognizing the volunteer ID.  If the certifications do not port over, there is a mismatch in the ID.
For all other questions, please contact the Support Line for prompt assistance.
